I have lived in California for many years having first come to the Golden State in 1985 as a young naval officer. I am from a navy family and kept to the tradition by attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis where I graduated with a B.S. in 1983.

My beautiful and loving wife, Lynn, and I met in San Diego in 1987 and were married in La Jolla in 1988. We have two boys, Jordan and Kyle, and a girl, Melissa. Each is a unique treasure! Life is busy but very good in the Frakes' household.

Laboratory supply distribution has been my profession since 1992 when I started with Curtin Matheson Scientific in Florida. I transferred to Thousand Oaks after the merger with Fisher in 1996. I had a very successful tenure with CMS/Fisher and count myself extremely fortunate to have such wonderful customers in a type of business I genuinely enjoy.

In all my years of laboratory distribution, Hardy Diagnostics was the company I could not compete with. The level of service, commitment to customers, and technical expertise was and is incredible. Since I could not beat them, I was fortunate enough to join them!
