HardyCHROM™ SS NoPro (no-Proteus) Agar is recommended for the selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella and Shigella spp. from stool. HardyCHROM™ SS NoPro Agar is intended as a primary screening tool to distinguish Salmonella and Shigella spp. from non-pathogenic enteric bacteria based on colony color, while inhibiting the growth and characteristic swarming of Proteus spp. The enhanced inhibition of Proteus reduces the expense involved in working up non-pathogens that could mimic enteric pathogens.

HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar
HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is a selective and differential chromogenic medium, containing a carbapenem, intended for use as a plating technique to obtain a pure culture of gram-negative bacteria that produce carbapenemase. HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is not intended to diagnose infections by carbapenem-resistant bacteria, guide or monitor treatment for infections, or provide susceptibility results to a carbapenem. Sub-culturing is necessary for microorganism identification, susceptibility testing, and epidemiological typing.

HardyCHROM™ ESBL is a selective and differential chromogenic medium which is intended for the qualitative and presumptive detection from stool specimens of: 1) Enterobacteriaceae that are potentially non-susceptible to ceftazidime and cefpodoxime; and 2) Extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Klebsiella oxytoca.
ESBL or Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamases refer to a group of enzymes produced by some species of bacteria that can mediate the organism’s resistance to one or more broad spectrum penicillins and cephalosporin antibiotics. Hardy Diagnostics is proud to offer this breakthrough culture media that will help screen ESBL quickly and more efficiently from stool specimen.

Group B Streptococcus.
Strep B Carrot Broth One-Step is used to screen for Group B Streptococcus in pregnant women prior to delivery. Our one-step test is an improvement over conventional methods by increasing sensitivity, decreasing turn-around time, and lowering overall cost. All formulary components are now included in the broth, so the use of additional tiles is no longer necessary. Positives require no confirmatory testing!
- Easy one-step process! Adding tiles is no longer necessary.
- Easy read-out. Development of any orange to red color indicates a positive result.
- For positives, there is no need for further subculturing to confirm.
- Lower cost when compared to the LIM Broth method.
- Carrot Broth was found to be more sensitive than LIM Broth and even PCR!
