Shigella Grouping Antisera are used in qualitative slide agglutination tests for the serological identification of Shigella species. Using these antisera, Shigella isolates may be grouped as subgroups A (S. dysenteriae), B (S. flexneri), C (S. boydii) and D (S. sonnei) or the Alkalescens-Dispar group.
