Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) is a nutritious base to which a variety of supplements can be added. It is recommended for use as a general growth medium for the isolation and cultivation of microorganisms. With the addition of 5% sheep blood, it also provides an excellent medium which allows the growth of yeast species, staphylococci, enterococci and Gram-negative bacilli.
