Simple to use system for the rapid generation of an anaerobic environment necessary to cultivate anaerobic microorganisms. No catalyst is needed and no water is required. The sachet is activated upon contact with air. No potentially explosive hydrogen gas is produced and there is no dangerous build up of pressure. The final atmosphere is less than 1% oxygen, supplemented with carbon dioxide which is ideal for the growth of anaerobes. Anaerobic conditions are reached in 30 minutes.

Use with Oxoid jar.
