Strep B Carrot Broth™ One-Step

Strep B Carrot Broth One-Step is used to screen for Group B Streptococcus in pregnant women prior to delivery.

Our one-step test is an improvement over conventional methods by increasing sensitivity, decreasing turn-around time, and lowering overall cost. All formulary components are now included in the broth, so the use of additional tiles is no longer necessary. Positives require no confirmatory testing!

  • Easy one-step process! Adding tiles is no longer necessary.
  • Easy read-out. Development of any orange to red color indicates a positive result.
  • Lower cost when compared to the LIM Broth method.
  • Can be used with liquid and gel-based transport systems.
  • Negative cultures from Strep B Carrot Broth should be subcultured to detect weakly or non-hemolytic strains of GBS.
  • Carrot Broth One Step is available in multiple formats that work on many automated inoculating machines.

The AIRBIO ONE RAPID-VIRUS System is an air sampler for airborne viable particle sampling. It is designed for total pathogen surveillance of bacteria, fungi, yeast, and viruses.

The dual purpose AIRBIO ONE RAPID-VIRUS instrument may used to:
Collect samples in liquid for subsequent rapid analytical identification steps by PCR, etc. and Sample air via the traditional impact-to-agar culture media plate method to count the sample colonies (CFU)

Innovative Features:

  • Collection unit is completely sterilizable
  • The tri-clamp stainless steel tube system facilitates cleaning and sterilization
  • Liquid sampling permits rapid methods (e.g. PCR), while traditional air sampling using culture media agar plates requires incubation of media plates to obtain sample results.

HardyCHROM™ is Hardy Diagnostics’ line of chromogenic, selective and differential culture media, recommended for use in primary cultivation and isolation of microorganisms. Hardy Diagnostics was the first company to introduce chromogenic media to the United States in 1996. We have a dozen chromogenic media with our line continuously growing.

A chromogenic media plate (HardyCHROM SS NoPro Agar) showing growths of Salmonella enterica

HardyCHROM™ SS NoPro (no-Proteus) Agar is recommended for the selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella and Shigella spp. from stool. HardyCHROM™ SS NoPro Agar is intended as a primary screening tool to distinguish Salmonella and Shigella spp. from non-pathogenic enteric bacteria based on colony color, while inhibiting the growth and characteristic swarming of Proteus spp. The enhanced inhibition of Proteus reduces the expense involved in working up non-pathogens that could mimic enteric pathogens.

Chromogenic media agar (HardyCHROM CRE Agar) growing kiebsella pneumoniae colonies

HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is a selective and differential chromogenic medium, containing a carbapenem, intended for use as a plating technique to obtain a pure culture of gram-negative bacteria that produce carbapenemase. HardyCHROM™ CRE Agar is not intended to diagnose infections by carbapenem-resistant bacteria, guide or monitor treatment for infections, or provide susceptibility results to a carbapenem. Sub-culturing is necessary for microorganism identification, susceptibility testing, and epidemiological typing.
