A self-contained, sterile, ready-to-use system, which includes a glass tube containing a semi-solid, pre-reduced transport medium. It is intended for maintaining the viability of a wide variety of microorganisms during transportation for up to 48 hours.
The medium contains an indicator that will turn pink to purple to blue if the anaerobic condition is compromised. Furthermore, letting oxygen into the tube can be avoided by injecting fluids through the rubber center of the screw cap with a needle and syringe.
