Highly sensitive and specific chromogenic media for Salmonella spp colonies that are distinguishable by color providing better detection, while inhibiting gram + organisms. Colorex™ Salmonella Plus allows for simultaneous growth, detection and chromogenic differentiation of Salmonella species, including S. typhi and S. paratyphi, traditionally taken from clinical stool specimens. Additionally, Colorex™ Salmonella Plus inhibits the growth of yeasts, mold and fungi – resulting in 100% sensitivity and 89% specificity for Salmonella compared to 78% with traditional Hektoen Agar. 

Detects: Salmonella enteriditis, Salmonella typhimurium, Eschericia coli, and Citrobacter freundii.
