For the selective cultivation and isolation of Gram-positive bacteria; and for the determination of characteristic hemolytic reactions. Gram-negative bacteria are inhibited by the colistin and nalidixic acid.

Contains 5% sheep blood from a veterinary supervised, controlled herd of donor animals. Blood is guaranteed to be from healthy antibiotic-free animals.
