A stabilized modification of the Sternheimer-Malbin Urine Sediment Stain for easy differentiation of red and white cells stains red cell pink, white cells purple, cytoplasm red-purple, yeast and fungal mycelia purple, casts pink to red, epithelial cells purple, bacteria red when alive, purple when dead, trichomonas colorless or light blue.
